QLD: Lang Park to be site of Brisbane "super stadium"
BRISBANE, Aug 31 AAP - Lang Park has been chosen as the preferred site for Brisbane's Super
Stadium.
As expected, Premier Peter Beattie said Cabinet has approved the $204 million upgrade of
the sentimental favourite over the RNA site at nearby Bowen Hills.
But Mr Beattie said the project was dependent on the Broncos being released by the Brisbane
City Council from their tenancy agreement with ANZ Stadium.
The government is expected to seek major private sector funding for the project, which is
due for completion in 2003.
